The City of Cape Town has drafted a single integrated by-law that deals with matters relating to cemeteries, crematoria and funeral undertakers to ensure the control and regulation of relevant activities within its area of jurisdiction.

Amongst other things, the by-law will assist City officials in providing for
the:

* control, regulation and development of cemeteries and crematoria
* control and regulation of funeral undertakers
* disposal of corpses and the interment of human remains in a dignified manner

The City would now like to invite residents to view the draft by-law.
Copies are available at the City's 23 subcouncil offices, its libraries or here. Any comments are welcomed.
